New Iberia, LA - Edward Lockett, a beloved husband, father, brother, and cherished of the community, passed away on May 20, 2024 in New Iberia, Louisiana. He was born on February 25, 1950, in Jeanerette, Louisiana.
Edward will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by his loving wife Annette Allen Lockett and their children: Lebronze {Natlie} Allen, Domnick Allen, Sherril {Aveia} Allen, and Kentrell Charles. His presence in their lives will forever be cherished and his memory held dear.
He is survived by his brother Jonathan {Delphina} Lockett from Jeanerette, LA, and his sister Lisa {Reggie} Burgess from Spring, Texas. Edward also leaves behind twelve nieces and nephews, twenty-one great nieces and nephews, and nine great-great nieces and nephews who will always carry his legacy in their hearts.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents Forest Lockett and Leon Jackson. He also joins his maternal and paternal grandparents in eternal peace. Edward is now reunited with them in a place of everlasting light and love.
In this time of remembrance and grief, we honor Edward's life with two services to celebrate his enduring spirit. A visitation will be held at Fields Funeral Home in New Iberia on June 1st starting at 10:00 AM followed by a Celebration of Life service at 11:00 AM.
Edward's kind demeanor, warm smile, and loving nature touched the lives of many. He will be remembered for his compassion, wisdom, and unwavering devotion to his family. May he rest in peace knowing that he was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
