New Iberia, Louisiana - A Home-Going Celebration for Mr. Peter DeRouen, Jr., 67, who passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at 5:30PM at his residence will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 11:00AM at Fields Funeral Home Chapel. A Visitation will be held at 10:00AM until the time of service. Pastor Eugene D. Guidry, Officiating.
Internment will be held privately.
Peter DeRouen, affectionately known as T-Pete, was called to his eternal rest on July 23, 2024, in his hometown of New Iberia. He was born on March 9, 1957, in the same city he called home throughout his life.
A man of honor and service, Peter DeRouen dedicated a part of his life to military service, embodying values of loyalty and patriotism.
Peter is reunited in the afterlife with his father: Peter DeRouen, Sr.; his mother: Ruby Berard DeRouen; his paternal grandparents: Leona DeRouen and Whitney DeRouen; his maternal grandparents: Lenard Berard and Mae Berard, as well as his former wife Debra Cormier.
He leaves to cherish his memory are his loving sons: Paul DeRouen of Cottonport, Louisiana; Andre' (Brinica) DeRouen of Carencro, Louisiana; Elijah Brown of Shreveport, Louisiana; Jonathan Brown of New Iberia, Louisiana and Joshua Brown of Monroe, Louisiana. Additionally, his daughter: Star Brown of Jeanerette, Louisiana. Peter is also survived by his brothers: Billy (Janelle) DeRouen, Kenneth (Gracie) DeRouen, Christopher DeRouen all from New Iberia, Lenard (Connie) DeRouen of Opelousas, Louisiana and his sister: Diane Guidry of Virginia Beach, VA.
Furthermore, Peter leaves behind eleven (11) grand-children along with a multitude of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends who were touched by his kindness and generosity.
Peter DeRouen's legacy of love and dedication will forever be treasured by those whose lives he touched. May he rest in peace knowing that he made a lasting impact on all who knew him.
